THE BACKSTORY

Covering Joni Mitchell can be a journey full of potholes and missteps, but, equally, great songs are made to be revisited so the challenge is there to be had. 

This particular journey started in a somewhat ad hoc fashion but, before anyone knew it, there was not only a bunch of instrumentals in the can but also a queue of A list vocalists (think the likes of Rumer, Hamish Stuart to mention but two) wanting to get involved. Hence it's looks like not one, but two albums (one instrumental and one of featured guest vocalists) may well be in the works! 

In the meantime, 3 of the best vocalists in the business - Mim Grey (McCartney, Tom Jones), Jo Harman (Duetted with Michael McDonald, Lamont Dozier) and Mike Mayfield (Ed Sheeran, Jessie J) join Redtenbacher's Funkestra, aka the Masterlink studio band, for a special live stream concert in front of a bespoke audience of about 30 people.

This exclusive full length concert takes place at the beautiful Surrey countryside location of Send Hill Studios - free parking on the site, too - where audience members can not just enjoy a 'front row' seat at this very special performance but also a 'behind the scenes' look of how these things work as it were, together, no doubt, with a meet and greet with the performers concerned.
