The Dukes of Mumbai are: Dale Pinkerton – on the guitar Dick Sapparel – on the bass Johnnie Luxembourg – also on the guitar Anton O’Farrell – mostly on the drums
Famous for serving up a red-hot, riff-tastic display of raw surf instrumentals by such legends as Dick Dale and Link Wray (among many others), the Dukes of Mumbai are guaranteed to get the party started and elevate the street credibility of everyone who falls under our spell.
You can expect a mix of high energy ‘60s surf pop instrumentals, classically influenced by the likes of Dick Dale and Link Wray, with a few surprise nuggets thrown in from further afield.
Now sharper than ever, you can always rely on the Dukes to get the party started. Memorably once likened to being chased through the desert under a full moon by a swarm of angry hornets, Dale’s guitar is amply supported by the rock-solidest rhythm section ever to emerge from Long Beach, Ca. The Dukes of Mumbai make friends wherever they go and no-one leaves empty-handed.
Avoid disappointment. Don’t miss the Dukes of Mumbai.
AlterModerns - Originally from Brazil, AlterModerns are a Bristol-based duo who have never been afraid to wear their influences on their musical sleeves. Psychedelic, garage, punk blues... they perform 'docufictional' songs about how communication, travel and migration affect a way of life. Tipped as a best 'new band for 22' by Louder Than War.
The SinicTones - The SinicTones are a Bristol-based power trio with fuzz-riffed guitars, driving ear-candy bass lines, catchy choruses and an epic live performance.
They are the originators of Psycho Surf Noir, combining frantic surf drums with classic spy beat guitar riffs and Film Noir, B-Movie and Femme Fatale vocal themes.
