Miguel Gorodi is a London based trumpet player, composer and teacher working across a broad spectrum of jazz and improvised music. He leads several ensembles playing music that reflects his interests in contemporary and traditional ideas in Jazz. Gorodi released his debut album Apophenia on Ubuntu in 2019 featuring his original compositions for Nonet. His versatility has seen him work across many styles of music with musicians and projects such as Ian Shaw, Jamie Callum, BBC Big Band, Barry Green, SEED Ensemble, Yazz Ahmed, Femi Temowo, The London Jazz Orchestra, Smitty’s House Band, London City Big Band, Hackney Colliery Band, The Ticklers, Riot Jazz and many others. He has performed in Spain, France, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Norway, Hungary, Ireland, Russia, Monaco and across the UK.
Alec Harper has established himself as one of the leading tenor saxophonists in the U.K. He recently played at the East Side in Shane Forbes Blossom Dearie Quintet. When he’s not busy performing with popular outfit “Kansas Smitty’s”, you can find Alec fronting his own group and as a sideman for admired local bands. He has performed at venues all over the world including North Sea Jazz Festival, Ronnie Scott’s, Dizzy’s Coca Cola (NYC). Alec has recently toured with Tom Misch as well as a stint recording and performing with the esteemed WDR big band. Be sure to head down to “Louche” bar in Soho where you can catch Alec perform with his quartet on Wednesday nights.

Alcyona Mick is a pianist working at the forefront of the London jazz scene and has been performing internationally for many years. She is a member of the London Jazz Orchestra, Tori Freestone/Alcyona Mick Duo, Bachar Zarkan ensemble, Eddie Parker's Debussy Mirrored ensemble, Josephine Davies’ Orenda trio, Brigitte Beraha Lucid dreamers, Randolph Matthews band, Merit Ariane Ensemble, Noel Langley’s Edentide ensemble, John Warren Nonet, Paul Clarvis/Stuart Hall trio, Samy Bishai quartet. She has worked with Anglo/Egyptian singer Natacha Atlas for many years, performing worldwide. She has played on TRT music series in Istanbul with many Turkish artists, and performed with a wide array of other musicians including Yazz Ahmed, Ingrid and Christine Jensen/Whirlwind bigband, Nikki Iles bigband, Alec Dankworth/Cleo Laine band, Mircan Kaya, Jerry Dammers Spatial aka Orchestra, Ibrahim Maalouf, Macadi Nahhas, Zoe Rahman and many more.
Conor Chaplin - A consummate bass player who has graced the floor by the stage of the East Side many times. Artists he has played with include Kit Downes, Ben Van Gelder, Reinier Baas, Marius Neset, Thomas Strønen, Bobo Stenson, Harold Mabern, George Garzone, Billy Cobham, Jacob Collier, Jesse Van Ruller, Iain Ballamy, Julian Siegel, Natalie Williams, Ivo Neame, Tony Tixier, Keyon Harrold, Stan Sulzmann, Bobby Wellins
James Maddren - Currently one of the UK’s (and increasingly Mainland Europe’s) first-call young drummers, he enjoys listening to and performing all kinds of music and has shared the stage with many artists and ensembles, including the Gwilym Simcock, Kit Downes Trio, Jacob Collier, Marc Copland/Stan Sulzman Quartet, The Mark McKnight Organ Quartet featuring Seamus Blake, Ivo Neame Group, Phil Donkin, Alex Garnett’s Bunch of Five, Michael Janisch, Will Vinson, Martin Speake Quartet, Phronesis, Jonathan Bratoeff Quartet, Nikkie Iles, Norma Winstone, among others.
