The False Dots - Nicely sardonic punk/post punk with flights of fancy and social comment in equal measure. Take on some nice ratty skanking that reminds a bit of Alternative TV, via Madness maybe, also a bit of head wobbling trippy jangling, all topped off with nicely pitched mockney vocalising. Will please fans of Squeeze, Half Man Half Biscuit and even Bad Manners I shouldn't wonder! Excellent stuff.
The Shoals - talking of Bad Manners, these guys feature an ex member of said beery ska pop giants, and what's more talking of Madness, a certain Lee 'Kix' Thompson's lad Daley features too. Job's a good un.
Divided Compass - euphoric positive pop with a jangly indie element and a strident radio rock vibe too...nice drops and peaks, as featured on their rather cool single 'Destined Future'.
Blood Tub Chairman - amongst Tim Whelan from Transglobal Underground's myriad talents and side projectss, recent years we've witnessed the very wonderful Blood Tub Orchestra...their mission- to bring the Victorian/Edwardian music hall music of Harry Champion, Marie Lloyd et al up to date, with a post punk throb and snarl. The Orchestra may be resting, but here's Tim plus piano to give us a glorious dose of The Good Old Days. With attitude.
