Join us with your children for the 1st Bruton Advent Spiral!

The Advent Spiral is a beautiful and gentle ceremony to celebrate Advent leading up to Christmas. Children, usually between the ages of about 5-12 years old (and adults too) are invited to ‘walk the Spiral’ with an unlit candle set in an apple.

The children enter the darkened room, where there is gentle music being played. A short welcome song from Nereida and then each child walks the Spiral one by one, carrying an unlit candle to the centre, where there is a large lit pillar candle. The child lights their own candle from the central one and turns around to walk out of the Spiral, choosing a place to set their candle before they reach the end.

With each child’s candle, the Spiral gradually builds into a beautifully lit up scene, a thing of wonder, their light to shine and keep out the darkness of the outside.

This is a most beautiful experience for the children and adults too.

All children must be able to safely carry a lit candle.
Long hair must be tied back.
Suitable clothing must be worn - e.g. no flowing skirts / dresses.
All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
There are 3 sessions at different times - please make sure you choose the best time for you.
