Modern synth-prog outfit KYROS have cemented themselves as one of the hardest working and most innovative bands in the modern progressive scene. Creating fresh, new and exciting music the band’s sound draws from the eighties pop sensibilities of Depeche Mode and Duran Duran through to the intensity and technicality of modern progressive music such as Haken and Porcupine Tree.
Now in their tenth year, Kyros have released three studio albums, three EPs, a covers album and a live-in-the-studio album. But in addition to their successful studio efforts, Kyros are also known for their dynamic and energetic live performances, which have garnered them a dedicated fanbase around the world. They have toured throughout the UK, Europe and USA and have also performed at festivals such as Night of the Prog and RoSFest, as well as supporting high profile bands such as Marillion, Spock’s Beard and Vanilla Fudge.
The London based quartet are not showing signs of slowing down any time soon and are due to be releasing a fourth studio album in late 2023. The album is sure to push the boundaries of what they do further than ever before, both musically and thematically. Despite their relatively short career, Kyros has already made a notable impact on the progressive rock scene and has established themselves as an important band to watch in the coming years. With their unique blend of technical prowess and emotional depth, the band continues to push the boundaries of the genre and create music that resonates with fans of all ages.

I AM THE MANIC WHALE are unashamedly a progressive rock band. Whilst inspired by the sounds of many of the great progressive artists, particularly Genesis, Big Big Train, Spock’s Beard and Neal Morse, I Am The Manic Whale hopes to be able to bring something new to the table. Their intelligent thoughtful lyrics touch on a range of unusual and interesting subjects from a fresh modern perspective; from science fiction to the history of printing, from the decay of a derelict swimming pool to the British engineering marvel that is the Intercity 125 high speed train or the joy of interlocking block construction toys.

London Prog Gigs are delighted to present the first Progressive music event at THE LOWER THIRD, part of the impressive new Outernet development at Tottenham Court Road/Denmark Street in central London. The 16th century forge at the heart of the former 12-bar club has been preserved and resited in the upstairs cocktail bar, while downstairs boasts an impressive new 200 standing capacity fully equipped live music venue and bar. The name references David Bowie's former 1960s band before he became a solo star.
