SID GRIFFIN led indie rock heroes the Long Ryders, credited by many as the founders of alt-country, and bluegrass outfit the Coal Porters. In January 2022 the Long Ryders received the AMA (Americana Music Association) UK Award for International Trailblazer.
Sid is a writer, broadcaster and producer. His production credits include Lindisfarne’s 1998 album ‘Here Comes the Neighbourhood’. He wrote acclaimed Bob Dylan book ‘Million Dollar Bash’ and penned the liner notes for the box set of the Basement Tapes. He has released four solo albums, the latest ‘The Trick is to Breathe’ was described as ‘a high-water mark in a career which has always celebrated traditional American music with boundless eloquence and enthusiasm’.
