Greg Hancock and Alex Seel first ran into each other at an open mic session in Exeter nearly a decade ago, and immediately recognised a kindred spirit in each other. Despite having very different styles and very different early influences (Greg coming originally from the folk side of things, and Alex more from Americana and Blues), their musical objectives were clearly aimed in the same direction. Both use their guitar skills to enhance and embellish carefully thought-out and thoughtful, contemporary lyrics that will resonate long after they are heard. Greg and Alex have often gigged together over the last few years and have developed an entertaining and relaxed stage presence by choosing to be on stage together and taking turns to present songs and interact with each other.. and with the audience!
GREG HANCOCK
Greg Hancock returned to the UK after most of his adult life overseas and quickly set about building a reputation as one of the most original songwriters and guitarists on the acoustic scene these days. Based in Devon, his songs cover mature topics from the hilarious to the heartbreaking, all observed from a slightly skewed viewpoint on the human condition. With rich, witty lyrics and intricate fingerstyle guitar playing, he tells stories and paint portraits that will draw you into a world that is both very personal and equally universal and recognisable. Early folk stylings have evolved into a unique guitar technique with evident influence from jazz and flamenco blended with influences as diverse as Joni Mitchell, John Martyn and Frank Zappa!

ALEX SEEL
Alex Seel is a singer-songwriter and guitarist with roots in folk & blues. Music has led Alex from Devon to London to Ireland and back to London again. Through his wanderings, Alex has picked up a beautifully crafted, warm, rootsy song-writing style with thought-provoking, subtle lyrics and a gift for acoustic guitar finger-picking. He has a growing reputation as a solo performer. Alex’s voice is subtle and haunting and his melodies and phrasings often go in unexpected, fascinating directions. He deals with a wide range of subject matter but there is something very connected to the natural world and to a search for real meaning in everything he does.
