The False Dots - Nicely sardonic punk/post punk with flights of fancy and social comment in equal measure. Take on some nice ratty skanking that reminds a bit of Alternative TV, via Madness maybe, also a bit of head wobbling trippy jangling, all topped off with nicely pitched mockney vocalising. Will please fans of Squeeze, Half Man Half Biscuit and even Bad Manners I shouldn't wonder! Excellent stuff.

The Shoals - talking of Bad Manners, these guys feature an ex member of said beery ska pop giants, and what's more, talking of Madness, a certain Lee 'Kix' Thompson's lad Daley features too. Job's a good un then.

Slender Pins - Punchy taut post punkery with elastic bass, split splat sparky drumming and arcing abrasive guitars and a melodically inclined new wave vocal fulla vim. Love it. Elements of The Stranglers, Devo, The Clash, Gang Of 4, Pil...ace...great songs. Now I would have to confess to that review bring a copy and paste from the last these lovely Pins played with us pre pandemic, but a cursory glance at tinternet and we're heartened to note their Bandcamp page is stocked and stoaked with neat neat neat new numbers.

Purple Implosion - Mixing spiky post punking punk funk with counter cultural garage birthed rocknroll and out and out psychedelics somewhere between Hawkwind and The Seeds featuring some beautifully out there front man antics...you can't take yer eyes off em! All bands should be a little bit more like Purple Implosion.
