The Wheel of the Year - a nurturing guide to rediscovering nature's cycles and seasons

Dr Rebecca Beattie is a Wiccan Priestess with a PhD in Creative Writing. Rebecca grew up on Dartmoor, which gave her an early appreciation of the power and joys of nature. She has been practising solitary witchcraft for twenty years and an initiate of the Gardnerian Wiccan tradition for fifteen. She is acclaimed for her highly informed teaching of witchcraft subjects at Treadwell’s Books in Bloomsbury. By day she is a professional in a major charity, with advanced degrees in Literature and Creative Writing.

John Callow is an author and historian. He has written widely on Early Modern witchcraft, politics and popular culture. His books include Witchcraft and Magic in 16th & 17th Century Europe (co-authored with Professor Geoffrey Scarre); James II: King in Exile; Embracing the Darkness: A Cultural History of Witchcraft; and The Last Witches of England: A Tragedy of Sorcery and Superstition.

The Wheel of the Year offers the tools you need to reconnect with the ancient rhythms of the year (from equinoxes to solstices), to develop new seasonal rituals and transform how you relate to the natural world. This book is alive with what is happening in nature and in ourselves, offering tools and rituals to rediscover and appreciate each seasonal festival, to pause and reflect. It will connect you to the wheel of your own life, allowing its readers to explore and chart the turning of their own seasons alongside the cycles of the natural world.

‘The Wheel of the Year’ will appeal to the huge numbers with an interest in slow and natural living, ritual, wild magic and seasonal tradition. These essential themes resonate strongly with today's practitioners of revived witchcraft as they campaign for pardons for those witches persecuted in the past, and look forwards to re-forging a feminised nature religion in the present.
