Eyesore & the Jinx

Eyesore & The Jinx’s early singles and debut EP were released by Merseyside taste-makers Eggy Records. Eyesore’s sphere of influence began to expand out of their home region, starting with a BBC 6Music Roundtable win for ‘On An Island’ produced by Jonathan Hartley from iconic psych-surgeons Clinic. Their debut EP, featuring singles ‘Leisure Time’ (KEXP Song of the Day) and ‘Nightlife’ was recorded with Daniel Fox (Gilla Band). The EP was funded by PRS Foundation’s PPL Momentum Accelerator fund for Liverpool musicians and was pressed to vinyl thanks to a successful crowdfunding campaign.

Eyesore songs often consist of ugly narratives centred around vile fictional characters. They take loose inspiration from what is happening around them, which has meant that in some cases, their made up stories have come true. Predicting the downfall of local public figures aside, their repertoire often centres around the worst of society (the eyesore), but with a playful side (the jinx).

They spent the latter end of 2021 and much of 2022 writing new material and tightening it up on stage with some choice gigs supporting acts like Bodega, Working Mens Club and DITZ. Previous single ‘Leisure Time’ carried on picking up support behind their backs appearing on an episode of Shameless US and then somehow managing to appear in a number of Spotify editorial playlists at the end of 2022.

2023 feels like a fresh start for the band, with a new single ‘An Ideas Man’ recently unleashed and lots of recorded music under their belts, there’s certainly an album announcement just round the corner.

MYNK

MYNK is a LOndon-based band that formed at the end of 2020 after each member began bouncing ideas off of each other within the shackles of isolation. They quickly discovered their sound through the creation of remote demos before teaming up with frontman and producer Faris Badwan (The Horrors, Cat’s Eyes) and Max Heyes (Primal Scream, Massive Attack) to record their debut single, Boundaries, in Autumn 2021. The band draw their influence from a wide range of both audio and visual art, from miniminalist pop to David Lynch, resulting in a visceral combination of pop-noir melancholia.

Scarlett Woolfe (stripped back set)

Scarlett Woolfe’s songs ring of melancholia and introspection, weaving haunting ethereal pop with dark, moody progressive rock. Channelling the unknown and secret worlds of hidden women harbouring dark truths.
