Event information

Heart Shaped is the dreamy pop project of Belfast-based songwriter Kendall Bousquet. Originally from Houston, Texas, Bousquet has carved out a space for herself in the Irish music scene and further afield, with front-page features on Bandcamp and radio airplay spanning the BBC to KEXP. After securing her spot as college radio darling with the release of 2022’s No Contact, new single Felt (out April 14th) finds Bousquet refining her style of glittering and expansive power pop interwoven with narrative introspection.

Produced and recorded by Declan Legge at Analogue Catalogue studios with support from the Chordblossom's Kickstart Prize, the track features fuzzy guitars and shimmering synths over a disco-inflected backbeat which underpin a meditation on the self-deception at the heart of a tumultuous relationship. In addition to a digital release, the track will get physical release from Texas label Poison Moon Records as part of a split 7" with fellow Houston indie rocker K. Campbell.

banríon is a four-piece Dublin based indie-rock band. Their music pairs a jangly indie rock sound with soft lyrics about songwriter Róisín's experience of disability, love and loss, set in the ever changing city they are all cursed to love. They established themselves "as one of the most thrilling new forces in Irish indie-rock" according to Hot Press with their first release - the self recorded and produced EP ‘airport dads’ in 2020. The EP was critically acclaimed with reviews from Nialler9, Hot Press, The Thin Air and landed banríon a support slot on Pillow Queens Irish tour.

Niall McDowell is a queer folk and alt-country singer/songwriter from Belfast. Their music has been described as "somewhere between a choirboy and a cowboy" by BBC Radio 1. Songs such as 'Brokeback' and 'It Was An Honour To Be Nominated' were lauded for their whip-smart writing and vulnerable production. "The voice is beyond category" Stu Bailie, Dig With It, "A new era for their enthralling sound" - Hot Press for Track of the Day & "Full of life and charm" -Nialler9.
