Red Balloon Music are proud to present our very first show with alt-folk act BEFORE BREAKFAST, with support from THE SILVER RESERVE.

Before Breakfast explore feminist issues through the telling of personal stories – fusing their classical knowledge and rich arrangements with raw expression. Gina and Lucy’s music has always been beautiful, though is often layered with feminine discomfort. An uneasy web of harmonies and relentless piano, intricate cello and expressively haunting vocals run through their back catalogue and feature on their debut album I Could Be Asleep If It Weren’t For You, released January 2022. Their next release Absorbed, a 5 track EP, is due out on the 28th April 2023.

The four-piece have supported Paul Heaton & Billy Bragg on arena stages, Richard Hawley and have toured with gold certified Sony artist Tokio Myers and Mercury Prize nominated Bella Union artist C. Duncan, performing at venues such as Shepherds Bush Empire, Manchester Albert Hall, The Sage, Scala, Band On the Wall, Thekla and The Rescue Rooms.

'The Silver Reserve' is the name of the band. The band is a vehicle for the songs of Matthew Sturgess which are written on classical guitar before being taken to the other members to be transformed and take new shapes.

The Silver Reserve have made one album and adhere to a DIY ethic writing, producing and releasing their music entirely independently. They are working on new recordings and since last year they have been presenting their songs live including playing support slots for Charlie Barnes, Jim Noir and Karl Blau.
