Mark Hart never saw Joy Division, possibly one of the most mythologised bands ever.
He did however get a copy of the first biography of the band published on release forty years ago. That book mentioned Joy Division’s two gigs in Walthamstow and New Order’s one visit a few years later. In this fascinating talk Mark will join the dots between those trips to E17 and present day. Part detective story, part quest, wholly unreliable. Space is limited. Don’t miss out. Mark Hart is a Walthamstow resident. He has played in unsuccessful bands and promoted unsuccessful nights for too long. He runs the Walthamstow Rock ‘n’ Roll Book Club one of London’s premier literary salons.
