In January 2020, Liam’s 15-year old son Patrick went to a football game and never came home. He collapsed seeking the last train out of Marylebone and died, suddenly, unexpectedly and still, without cause. Two weeks later, his Dad, with his sense
of purpose desperately unravelled, gently died too.

Red Balloons is a memoir tracing their last months, and enduring the next ones. It’s a book that passionately preserves them and the beating heart of their stories.

SUDC UK is a registered, national charity dedicated to raising awareness, funding research and supporting families affected by Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood (SUDC).    
SUDC is the sudden and unexpected death of a child aged 1-18 years where the cause of death remains unexplained after a thorough investigation.
Currently, no-one can predict or prevent these deaths. They continue to devastate c40 families year on year, yet there is such potential to save lives through research and awareness.
