Join authors Camille Grudova and Nathalie Olah for a discussion on the films of Ladislaws Starevich, presenting fiction and a discussion inspired by his work.
Camilla Grudova is the author of the doll’s alphabet, children of paradise and the forthcoming the coiled serpent. In 2023 she was named one of granta’s best young british novelists.
Nathalie Olah is the author of Steal as much as you can (Repeater, 2019), Class (Tate Publishing), a forthcoming book on the artist Sarah Lucas (Tate Publishing) and Bad Taste: or the politics of ugliness (Dialogue Books). She is a contributor at Art Review, The Guardian, The TLS, Jacobin and Tribune. She is interested in media spectacles and propaganda, and the quaint exceptionalisms of the middle-class western psyche. Her work seeks to challenge the assumption that seeing is knowing, and the steady slide into what the academic Eva Illouz has termed ‘scopic capitalism’.
