SHADE
The best thing about SHADE (always written in capitals) is while they have proper Mancunian attitude and swagger, they’re not clones of what’s gone before. The sound they craft is 100% their own with influences from their parents’ record collections. Lead guitarist Ben alone is like the bastard offspring of Jimi Hendrix, John Squire and Slash combined. While other ‘new’ Manchester bands hark back to the past, SHADE are looking firmly forward with a truly exceptional songwriter and singer in Luke who is going from strength to strength with wisdom beyond his years.
Obviously, every band needs a strong engine room to keep it all together, and this is the beauty of it, not only are Adam and Oliver in tune, they’re brothers as well. You cannot get tighter than that.
No longer Manchester’s best kept secret, the band have recently joined Golden Robot Records whose roster spans all four corners of the earth. It’s time for SHADE to go global!

ALEX SPENCER
Treasure has been unearthed on the streets of Manchester and a new whip-smart, street-savvy voice of late-teen thrills, spills and taken chances emerges in the shape of Alex and his debut single, A Night To Waste. Those in the know already know him. Passers-by, his home city’s street communities and fellow musicians have long had sight and sound of Spencer’s young, go-getting, tale-telling talents and now the combustible, open secret is ready to ignite as the busking school-leaver’s first recordings find their way into the world.

Evidently born to do it, Spencer stepped out of his home with a borrowed guitar under his arm as an even younger, adventurous teen, gamely taking up residence on busy shopping streetsto test out transient audiences and tourists in places they’d least expect to find a new talent. Baby-stepping through the chords of Ben E King’s StandBy Me and 10CC’s Dreadlock Holiday to begin with, Spencer advanced to dissecting the modern classics of Arctic Monkeys and Sam Fender before inevitably starting to construct songs all of his own. The rest is history and the future has begun. Stepping up to the mic away from his natural stage in the open air and in a recording studio for the first time, after signing with leading, star-making indie, Modern Sky. Ready to tour into summer with a full band in tow, the 16-year-old’s debut single bubbles with energy as the lyrics handle the frustrations of ever being held back.

MEZCAL
With a unique and revamped hard rock resonance, Mezcal entered the music scene in late November 2021 and currently consists of 3 members; Ashton Baker (lead vocalist/guitarist), Fintan Kilroy (bass guitarist/backing vocals), and Archie Lovatt (drums/backing vocals). They have taken the recently concluding year by storm playing at a myriad of popular venues all over West Yorkshire supporting their peer up-and-coming bands such as Cliche Cult, Backspace, and Redshakes. Drawing inspiration from affluent bands like Royal Blood and Avenged Sevenfold, they have made it their mission to produce a distinctive and vehement sound, breaking the conventions of traditional rock music creating a groundbreaking and never before heard aura leaving their listeners eager for their coming releases. Mezcal’s very presence and ambition is certain to leave a mark on the industry with their individual twang and unforgettable atmosphere, making them the perfect candidate for your ears.
