Event information
Danny George Wilson’s formidable credentials go back to his days in seminal UK roots rock band Grand Drive, a solo album, and six high calibre albums on Loose Music with Danny & The Champions of the World. In 2016 The Champs swept the boards at the inaugural UK Americana Awards, winning with Album, Artist and Song of the Year. Alongside Robin Bennett and Tony Poole (BWP) he released an album which bagged another UK Americana Awards ‘Artist of the Year’. His latest album, Another Place, has been again been voted Americana UK’s Album of the Year for 2021. This year another BWP album was released, followed by a one-off solo gig supporting Steve Earle in Paris. Danny is joined in our Festival by long term wing-man and Champs guitarist for over 10 years Paul Lush on guitar and mandolin
