Event information

Nunhead Community Choir is an inclusive, non-audition, friendly choir who sing for pleasure. We've been going for 13 years, and sing a wide range of pop songs, favourites from the musicals and traditional songs, the majority of which are arranged by our young and talented musical director Ben Swan. We meet on Thursday evenings at Ivydale School during term time, and perform at all sorts of local events.

The Cambria Choir was born and raised in a pub called the Cambria, and has been singing together in four part harmony for some 14 years. We're regulars at local festivals, have sung backing vocals to pop sensation Hazel O' Connor, and join forces with other choirs. Braving venue changes when our beloved pub closed down, through Covid, Zoom, singing outdoors, we have always been directed by both Sarah Fisher and Lucy Harrower. Each leader brings different musical talents to the party, Sarah with her incredible keyboard skills and Lucy with her singing technique. If you would like to join us, we currently practise on Thursdays above the Herne Hill Railway Station.

Last year The Lambeth Ladies Choir celebrated its 60th Anniversary. Our library is wide and varied, with well over 300 songs – Purcell to the present-day, including choruses from opera, operetta and musicals, folk songs and shanties, and specially composed pieces. We rehearse on Friday afternoons in West Norwood and perform two or three concerts each year.

Palace Acappella is a non-auditioned community choir based in the Upper Norwood Library Hub in the heart of Crystal Palace. We believe in singing for health and happiness, the importance of connection and socialising within the choir, and the value of singing a wide variety of musical styles. We love performing, especially as part of local community events, and we are always open to new members.
