THE MEN OF A CERTAIN AGE
THE CHERRY BURTONES
THE BAY HORSEMEN OF THE APOCALYPSE
MIDNIGHT FLYERS
The event has been described as a ‘glorious entertaining mixture of songs, tunes and styles from four very different local acts all with Cherry Burton connections-most of the musicians live there! The first ‘Hall Together Now’ event took place in February 2020 just before lockdown which proved very popular and raised much needed funding for the hall upkeep. That night concluded with a grand finale with all the musicians and singers onstage belting out The Beatles song ‘All Together Now’. This year, it is hoped a rendition of The Farm’s hit ‘All Together Now’ will finish the evening with everyone on stage once again.
From the unaccompanied barber-shop style vocals of the Cherry Burtones, through the great songs and playing of Midnight Flyers, and The Men of a Certain Age plus the eclectic mix of material from The Bay Horsemen of the Apocalypse-this should be a great night from start to finish.
The Cherry Burtones vocal quartet have a great collection of songs that appeal to all ages- Andy Bunney and Andrew Kneeshaw both live in the village, with Andy Nunn and John Seaman making up the ranks. Another band with village links which are now unavailable for this event is Strawberry Moon, though Dez Allenby from the group will now appear with Martin Peirson as The Men of a Certain Age- (both also live in Cherry Burton) plus Peter Robinson - the collective nickname for the musicians that can often be seen backing Henry Priestman. Midnight Flyers recently played to a packed Village Hall with their Songs by The Eagles show- and return in a slightly more acoustic format. Villager Andrew Kneeshaw from the band recalls how the group actually formed after an impromptu session at a village pub acoustic night! Finally The Bay Horsemen of the Apocalypse trio all live in the village with their set of catchy self penned songs, toe tapping tunes and evergreen classics.
Attenders can bring their own drinks and glasses, and there will be a raffle to help boost the cause.
