CRUEL NATURE RECORDS present:
DRAGGED UP (Glasgow)
Dragged Up are an off-kilter psych-garage proto-punk band formed in late 2018, with members from Trembling Bells, Vom, The Owsley Sunshine and Las Mitras. Their debut mini-album "D/U" was released in 2020, show-casing their seamless cross-pollination of doom, psych, proto-punk, garage, and spoken word, to positive reviews and critical acclaim. Their new EP 'Hex Domestic' is released by Cruel Nature in early September.
"like classic CBGBs proto-punk transplanted to rain-drenched Scottish streets" (Louder Than War)
"an all-seeing, culture-cannibalizing slacker classic." (Record Collector)

POUND LAND (Manchester)
Formed in 2020 by vocalist/lyricist Adam Stone (Future Bomb/Holy Ghost People/frequent collaborator with Dead Sea Apes) and multi-instrumentalist Nick Harris (Reverends of Destruction/ ex-Dead Sea Apes), Pound Land have released four albums with Cruel Nature, their latest 'Violence' coming out at the end of September. Dubbed 'kitchen-sink punk for the 21st century' the now expanded line-up, aggressively push lyrical themes relating to the sign o' the times: corporate hegemony, business culture, mainstream media influence, automation, class polarisation and economic austerity, against a backdrop of nineties alt-metal industrial abstracted by psych doom and post-punk.
'an eccentric, dark and terrifically twisted take on punk.' (Louder Than War)

LOVELY WIFE (Newcastle)
Active since 2011, with three albums out on Cruel Nature, Newcastle's most normal and innocent men, bring an absurd mix of sludgy riffs, braying horn and horrible noises.
FFO: Iron Monkey, Eagle Twin, The Melvins, Butthole Surfers
"comes on like the mutant progeny of The Butthole Surfers and either Iron Monkey or Charger (I’ve not yet decided which). Overall the band strike just the right balance between repulsive and life-affirming." (Joseph Stannard, The Wire magazine)
