Our October screening is a beautifully crafted, well-cast, and well-written black and white World War II film, set mainly in the Nazi-occupied Netherlands. The film is in the style of a drama-documentary, with a realistic look and feel, immersing the viewer in the action, alongside the crew.

The crew of the aircraft in question find themselves lost in enemy territory and must depend on the resources of others to get them to safety. They are played by some of the best British actors of the time - including Powell and Pressburger 'regulars' Pamela Brown and Robert Helpmann, and even a young Peter Ustinov, in his film debut.
