John Sullivan-Blakeney: A Leaf on the Tree
Myths and legends of the Goddess of Sovereignty, of the Land personified, have been told since the sun first rose. How she has made her way through time and across the world. How the spirit of man impacts on the Spirit of the land. And what in their heart of hearts do women want?
In ‘A Leaf on the Tree’, John Sullivan-Blakeney tells the story of ‘Gawain and the Loathly Lady’. He traces how, under the patriarchy, the legend has travelled through Medieval courts and the hands of Christian scribes, and shows how it can now thrive in today’s climate.
