Event information

On The Edge is one of Brighton's best-loved and longest-running comedy nights, which over the years has featured local comics alongside the likes of Angela Barnes, Joe Wilkinson, Alasdair Beckett-King, and many more TV names including countless Live at the Apollo stars.

This month we've gone for something a bit different! We're presenting one of our favourite acts, Mark Silcox, in his wonderful new hour-long Edinburgh hit show, Women Only.

Mark has been performing stand-up since 2009 and has a string of TV credits to his name, including Joe Lycett's Got Your Back, Big Boys, and the regular role of Uncle Shady in Man Like Mobeen.

Mark has a brilliant deadpan style and is well known and loved as a 'comedian's comedian': here he is strutting his stuff on Dave TV's Live at the Moth Club: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LBO72cbVtFw

His hit new show, Women Only, sees 'Dr Silcox offer official apology on behalf of weak men to women for all the historical misconducts caused by powerful men and aim to build up positive working relations' (from his official Edinburgh Fringe listing).

"The show is a perfect example of expert use of the philosopher's comedy stone. Dr Silcox never cracks a smile, never misses a beat and the funny just keeps coming. Weird and wonderful." (**** Kate Copstick, The Scotsman)

Plus support from Brighton comedy legend and friend of the show (as well as South Coast Comedian of the Year runner-up), the wonderful Graeme Collard

“Graeme Collard is very very very funny” - TV's Joe Wilkinson

"There is much to enjoy in his way of thinking" - Steve Bennett – Chortle

The evening will be MCed by regular host Dan Fardell ("One of the best new jokewriters I've seen in ages" - Romesh Ranganathan)

Please note: gig starts at 8 pm prompt, doors at 7.30 - please arrive as early as possible as it can take a while to get drinks and get seated. All line-ups are subject to change. ROAR

Sadly, the venue is not wheelchair-accessible and requires climbing a flight of stairs
