Queer as Punk presents a little bit of this and a little bit of that... poetry, music, drag, comedy, in Leith's hottest venue (there is now air conditioning, so this is no longer literal) Leith Depot.
Line up:
RJ Hunter
RJ Hunter (they/them) is an award-winning performance poet based in Edinburgh, known for blistering performances discussing a myriad of topics including sexuality, gender and being a stupid sexy poem slut. Loud Poets Grand Slam Champion 2023.
Ayo Adenekan
Ayo Adenekan is a queer comedian from Edinburgh who is known for not only his funny jokes about growing up black in Scotland but also his crippling nicotine addiction which is currently keeping Marlboro in business
King Hoberon
King Hoberon is a lean, mean drag machine. They came second at Man Up! 2019, subsequently popping up in Vogue Italia and Private Eye, and can now be found performing just about anything as a king and a thing. King Hoberon spent 2022 playing Private Dancer in Mulan Rouge at the Vaults, and has been known to do it all, from lipsyncing as a seal to seeing how many dildos they can hide in one coat. Rikki Beadle-Blair called them a 'genius'.
Lou Mclean
Lou Mclean is a singer songwriter making riot grrrl influenced pop. Now studying her MA in songwriting, she spends her time experimenting with solo work and gigging with her band, The Killjoys.
