Do you have stories to tell of the female members of your own family and community over the generations?
Ahead of Bev Lee Harling performing in Ploughing The Salt Sea, we invite you to celebrate our unwritten heritage, exploring our female ancestry – stories of our mums, aunts, grannies, neighbours, family friends.
Women’s stories are notoriously under-recorded and undervalued: while digging into her own heritage, Bev found this to be true of her own family. To redress the balance, please come to this creative workshop where we will look at our stories through discussion and writing/drawing in order to capture and celebrate these important personal narratives about the women who shaped us.
You don't have to be female to tell the stories, all ages and genders are welcome. Come solo, as a couple or with family.
The writing/artworks made at the workshop will be recorded and displayed alongside Bev's solo show, which is touring a number of UK coastal locations. At each location, this workshop will be repeated with a new local audience.
Help Bev Lee Harling kick off the show by sharing your own story, and become a part of this evolving creative exchange!
Workshops places are free but limited and must be booked in advance.
