A Rock N Roll Book Club of sorts tonight. Let’s call it Jeffrey Wengrofsky’s Arts Lab. Mixed media delights care of Mr W, and a handpicked trio of electro noir artists too, all artistically pregnant with scintillating, psych, scifi and gothique audiovisual wonders.

Jeffrey Wengrosky is a filmmaker and author from the historic Lower East Side of NYC, notable for its Beat, Yippie, Punk, No Wave, and Warhol associations.

Tonite Jeffrey will show a few short films featuring neighborhood artists and read from The Wolfboy of Rego Park, his memoir. This highly anticipated book has received reviews from Exene Cervenka (X), Jim Sclavunos (Nick Cave), Adam Sexton, (Yale), and Ratso Sloman (National Lampoon).

Das Fluff– dividing their time between London and Berlin, the dark cabaret of DF is a sensual, slinky beast full of esoteric twists and turns and some fabulous Dietrich like hollering. Part electro pop, part tbrobbing rock, with some nice early ’80’s analogue synth sounds.

Flesh Tetris – the singular and superb space punk and scifi psychedelicists… Turn on, Login, Drop out…An exciting fascination with murder cults and bunny rabbits, their freaky social commentary informed techy artpop is highly infectious. An arousing blend of crazed vocalese, brain burrowing bleeps, pulverizing drum onslaughts and bass led murderization. A must see band, which is handy coz here they be.

Jan Doyle Band – “INSURRECTIONARY NEO FUTURISTS”…not many… from Yorkshire mixing up goth, cyber, industrial, new wave, synthpop and more in renowned flamboyant futuristic fashion. Fab.

We Got Killers will intersperse proceedings with a noir tinged DJ set of Arthouse London meets Beat NYC type derivation. Joei Sylvester takes over at 11 to make the party hearty til 2am.
