Blessed with a distinctive, bluesy, soulful voice, UK based singer-songwriter Luke Jackson has developed an enviable reputation for himself in the Roots, Acoustic, Folk & Americana circuits by virtue of his acclaimed recordings and dynamic live performances, be they solo or trio.
At the start of his career Luke was nominated in the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards for both the Horizon Award for Best Emerging Talent and The Young Folk Category in 2013. He was also winner of Fatea’s “Male Artist of the Year” 2014 and 2016. His live album ‘Solo:Duo:Trio’ was voted 2018 Album of the Year by Laurel Canyon and in 2020 his album ‘Journals’ was voted 2019 Album of the Year by Fatea Magazine, with R2 Magazine saying ‘Journals is an excellent album from a very special singer with a great repertoire, fully confirming his star potential beyond the folk scene’.
Ever since his debut album, Luke's voice has been his trademark and there is as much soul in his voice as folk. It’s remarkable how the strength and depth of his voice has increased in just the last year, let alone since 2012. His solo acoustic roots have increasingly evolved into band arrangements in a more blues and soul, jazz and rock and even gospel direction as his musical education has advanced, a true testimony to this young man’s remarkable progress and prowess. It’s been quite a remarkable journey, which is no doubt what someone will still be writing in another twenty or thirty year’s time about Luke Jackson.
