Join us for a one-off Songwriters Circle with Rob, Katie and Anna when they will perform selected songs from their individual repertoires with accompanying details, descriptions and explanations on how and why they were written.
This is a chance to see "behind the scenes" of the songwriters' methods as well as the opportunity to see and hear three exciting and unique singer-songwriters up close and personal.
Singer-songwriter Anna Corcoran, originally from Formby Merseyside, graduated from Goldsmiths college in 2005, with a Bachelor of Music degree. She is currently studying for her MA Voice Pedagogy: Professional Practice with Voice Workshop University of Wales, Trinity St David. Alongside her own performances, Anna is a highly experienced vocal coach, choir director and arranger, specialising in pop and jazz vocals. Her choral arrangements of popular classics have been performed nationwide by children's choirs in theatres and concert halls including Queen Elisabeth Hall, Royal Festival Hall and The Sage Gateshead.
In 2016 Anna released her debut album Easier Than Falling featuring her stand out single 'The Show' which received national radio play on BBC Radio 2 and BBC 6 Music. A live performance of The Show also featured in BBC One Drama 'Moving On - Madge' featuring Hayley Mills.
In Jan 2021, Anna was announced as the winner of UK Instrumentalist of The Year at the Americana Music Awards UK. This nomination was following her performances on AMA double award winner Robert Vincent's album In This Town You're Owned and Laura Marling's Grammy and Mercury Music Prize nominated Song For Our Daughter. Both albums were produced by award winning producer Ethan Johns.

Katie Nicholas is an award-winning singer songwriter from Liverpool. After a long musical hiatus she steps into a new musical era with her latest EP "Feather" showcasing her as a distinctive folk artist, skilful guitarist and fearless in bending any genre to suit her message. With her poetic lyricism and carefully crafted guitar arrangements accompanied with strings and keys, her sound is reminiscent of obscure but timeless artists including Kate Rusby, Katie Melua, Eva Cassidy and Joni Mitchell.

It was the start of 2020 when Robert’ Vincent's third LP, the critically-acclaimed ‘In This Town You’re Owned’, was released by Thirty Tigers and walked straight into a worldwide pandemic. Despite stalled promotional plans and tours, the record resonated enough to win the Americana Music Association UK’s ‘Album Of The Year’ award for 2021. Receiving critical acclaim, the record also charted at number 2 in the UK Americana Charts and American Songwriter Magazine named ‘In this Town You’re Owned’ in its top 20 albums (every genre) of 2020. “I had to try to take the positives as an artist’ Robert says when recalling the experience of lockdown. “I hadn’t had any time off from performing in many years and that gave me a bit of a reset…but I’m now looking ahead to a successful year and excited to be playing new songs to people”.
It was Vincent’s powerful and soulful voice that attracted acolytes such as Bob Harris, Paul Carrack and Mary Chapin Carpenter. In 2016, Harris awarded Robert with his ‘Emerging Artist’ of the year award at the inaugural UK Americana Awards show describing Vincent as “absolutely magnetic” and “the real deal”. In 2018 following the release of ‘I’ll Make The Most Of My Sins’ (AMAUK Album of The Year 2018) Robert was invited to perform on the BBC ‘Old Grey Whistle Test, For One Night Only’ closing the show. It was this performance that would propel him to number 1 and 2 in the iTunes Album and Singles Charts.
