Today, liberated Kherson experiences constant shelling from Russian troops, making it perilous to open the
theatre's doors and welcome people inside. The theatre stands empty, or so it appears. However, the theatre troupe is rehearsing a play in Kyiv. They no longer need scripted roles; instead, they portray themselves in a documentary-style show, recounting their own story of how the people of Kherson resisted the Russian
occupation because of their pro-Ukrainian stance.

During the last 3 months of the exile of the legend who created many Ukrainian lyrics and associated culture, Taras Shevchenko in Kazakhstan. That summer the poet, exiled for military service in the tsarist Russian army, receives a message from friends in St. Petersburg: he is personally pardoned by Tsar Alexander II. However, the military the leadership of Novopetrovsk Fort is in no hurry to tell Taras about this and to issue a decree of dismissal. Moreover, a secret agent from Petersburg tries to do everything so that the poet stays.
