Event information

Gino Lupari launches his album “ No Turning Back” featuring guests and friends Tim Edey, Dermot Byrne & Gerry Banjo O'Connor.

There aren't that many artistes that can be immediately recognised just by their first name. Mention Elvis, Dolly, Aretha or Emmylou and everyone knows who you are referring to. Mention the name “Gino” to anyone interested in Irish traditional music and there is no need to add a surname, such is the esteem that the inimitable Gino Lupari is held in. Larger than life (and twice as handsome as he claims!) the bodhran maestro, founder member of the illustrious Four Men and a Dog, has been striding the world of Iris music like a colossus for over 50 years, delighting audiences all over the world and recording with the likes of Sinead O’Connor, Shane McGowan, Levon Helm, Rick Danko and Garth Hudson and is equally at home performing at The Olympics in Atlanta as he is in intimate theatre settings.

Now, finally, he has found time to record his first solo album, “No Turning Back” adding his own unique interpretation to many of his favourite songs and tunes from across different genres of music and backed by a host of top musicians. Treat your ears to a taste of Italian Irish musical perfection!!
