Improve your vocal technique and sing more confidently. Debby Tyndall and Rachel Myer will teach you how to
• Improve your breathing and posture
• Release your natural voice
• Expand your vocal range
• Get in touch with your vocal instrument
• Sing with more power but less effort
• Avoid vocal strain and fatigue
In this 3 hour workshop (13:45 to 16:45)
Debby will start the session off with floor and seated exercises to release tension and balance your body ready for vocalising. The Body & Breath to Voice Connection will help you release your natural voice and sing with ease and expression. Using simple melodies and songs we will explore challenges and open up the whole potential of your natural voice.
Please wear soft clothing and able to take your shoes off.
We will have a short break for tea and a biscuit (provided).
Rachel will continue the workshop using fun, targeted exercises to help you to feel more in control of your voice. We will apply these different vocal techniques to songs which will help you gain a deeper understanding of your vocal instrument.
You will learn
Bubbling as a warm up technique (straw & cup provided).
Vocal onsets. This will help you get in touch with your True Vocal Folds.
How to siren & tilt. This will help increase your range and navigate any ‘breaks’ in your voice.
How to retract. This will help you to avoid scratching or hurting your voice.
How to anchor. This will help you to stabilise your voice
We will look at how to produce ‘Twang’ safely.
