Event information

'The concert begins with Heinrich Schutz's 'Cantiones Sacrae', Op 4: a collection of sacred texts and madrigals, first published in 1625. This is followed by J.S Bach's Passacaglia in C minor.

'Membra Jesu Nostri' follows n the second half. It is regarded as one of the finest Passiontide works, a cycle of seven cantatas , a meditation on the body of Christ on the cross, and is considered to be a masterpiece in beauty, hope and invention.
