A Songwriters’ Showcase event in the warm and intimate atmosphere of Libby’s Walled Garden Workshop. We’re happy to bring you some exceptionally talented musicians and songwriters from the Chesterfield and Sheffield area: come and listen in the company of good friends, and enjoy the hospitality offered by Libby and her colleagues. Simple food and a selection of drinks will be available.

Soft Lad - They’re artier than Art Garfunkel
They’re poppier than Iggy Pop
They’re more humorous than Elbow.
They’re easier on the ear than Ronseal patented ear balm
Soft Lad will seduce you with home-crafted acoustic pop and the occasional ballad, much of it taken from their debut album, “Soft Lad”. If you’re very lucky, they may even play you the title track - “Soft Lad”. Soft Lad are the voices and guitars of Lewis and Kieran, often seen performing independently as “My Pleasure” and “Ichabod Wolf”.

Heneghan
It’s tempting to describe El Heneghan’s band as “Po’ Girl meets Deliverance”, but we fear that would not do justice to their range of musicality. True: there are likely to be tales of revenge and grim acts down on the organic farm in South Yorkshire, but much more besides. Exquisite and unusual musicianship, coupled with great harmony and humour. Heneghan gigs are not commonplace, so come grab this opportunity. Warning: there may be banjos.
