PETE ASTOR (London)

I've been listening to Pete's music since pretty much since day 1 of my music listening life... I bought The Loft's Once Around the Fair along with a bunch of more familiar jangle pop, but this comp stayed at the top of the pile for a very long time.. the perfect combo of poetry, driving jangle and enough scratch to keep things exciting.... anyway, since then he's been part of The Weather Prophets and released a slew of solo albums on labels such as Creation, Fortuna Pop, Slumberland and most recently, Tapete.... which is more the focus here... This solo show brings a folksier, softer, more intimate side to his 40 year long discography.. supporting the release of his new LP reimagining select cuts from said discography, Tall Stories and New Religions, featuring members of Death In Vegas, Felt, Dexy's etc... it's gonna be a goody.. both the LP and the show.. see you there..

Roxy has always been a favourite musician/songwriter of mine... in Trust Fund, Grubbs, Towel and a heap of other projects.. her solo material, under the name in capitals above... brings the magic of all of them together.. sweet, smart songs with lush harmonies and wistful stories... very excited to have them back to JT, it's been too long..
