Event information
999 is an English punk rock band formed in London in December 1976. The original lineup included Nick Cash (vocals, guitar), Guy Days (lead guitar), Jon Watson (bass), and Pablo LaBritain (drums), with a few changes over the years. Known for their energetic live performances, 999 became a staple of the London punk scene, regularly performing at venues like the Hope and Anchor.
They released 14 singles and 12 albums between 1978 and 2007. Five of their singles charted in the UK, with “Homicide” breaking into the Top 40. Their albums The Biggest Prize in Sport and Concrete charted on the U.S. Billboard 200, helped by extensive U.S. touring.
Despite lineup changes in the 1980s, the band continued to record and tour, gaining a reputation as one of the longest-running punk bands. Their debut single, “I’m Alive,” and second album, Separates, are considered punk classics.
