We need your support to raise funds to re-elect Anneliese in Oxford East and win back majority control of Oxford City Council.

Join us on Friday 23rd February for a fun evening of politics, conversation and food. The event will include an auction and a raffle, as well as speeches by Shadow Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson MP and Alistair Strathern MP. We will also be joined by Labour's Parliamentary Candidate for Banbury, Sean Woodcock.

Excellent Turkish food; meat & vegetarian. All welcome. A solidarity ticket enables someone on a low income to come along.

Alistair Strathern was elected in the sensational Mid Bedfordshire by-election in October 2023 on an over 20% swing. He succeeded scandal plagued Nadine Dories. Before serving as an MP, Strathern was a Labour Councillor in Waltham Forrest in London and worked for the Bank of England on green finance. Similar to Bridget Phillipson, Strathern is a former Co-Chair of Oxford University Labour Club, serving for Trinity Term 2010.

Phillipson was first elected in 2010 as the Member of Parliament for Houghton and Sunderland South. Following Starmer's leadership election victory in April 2020, she was appointed to the Shadow Cabinet for the first time, as Shadow Chief Secretary to the Treasury. In November 2021 Phillipson was promoted to the role of Shadow Secretary of State for Education.

Phillipson is a former Co-Chair of Oxford University Labour Club, having been elected for Hilary Term 2003.
