Guth nádúrtha: exploring your natural voice through an Irish song

Lorna is a professional singer with many years of experience working with individuals and groups of singers e.g. choirs, school groups, community groups, BIMM students. She believes there is nothing more powerful than a person finding their voice, and all the self expression that can bring.

This 90 minute natural voice workshop is for all ages and abilities, and will allow participants to enjoy singing together whilst immersed in the richness of a traditional Irish song.

Beginning with vocal warm-ups, participants explore the nuances of natural singing and focus on breathing and long tones. The spotlight then shifts to a beloved Irish song, where participants will momentarily delve into its historical and cultural significance. We will then sing the song in harmony. Participants leave the workshop not only with newfound vocal skills but also a deep appreciation for the emotive power and communal spirit inherent in a beautiful Irish song.
Duration: 90 minutes, with a ten minute comfort break midway through.
Workshop open to children 10 years and up if they want to participate in the singing and are accompanied by an adult.
