Event Information
Hebble plays trad music from Ireland, England, Scotland and the Appalachians. The music is upbeat and fun at times, musical and considered at others. We also have original songs inspired by local myth and legend of the Yorkshire landscape and people.
The band has an unusual instrumentation of bodhran, cello, and bouzouki, with three-part harmonies to boot. This makes us compact and easy to set up. We also have our own PA system.
John Bromley has been described as ‘probably the finest bass singer on the British folk scene today.’ He has been singing folk songs since he was sixteen and has sung in several folk bands and is a solo artist. John plays guitar, whistle and bodhran. Since 2001, John has been a member of Kimber’s Men, he also sings with his son and daughter as The Bromleys and performs in the folk group, Hebric.
