Pete Astor led early Creation Records pioneers The Loft and The Weather Prophets, releasing records that pretty much defined the sound of the label and the emerging Indie genre.
He’s since spent his time, writing, recording, lecturing and releasing records on Matador, Heavenly, Warp and Fortuna Pop. He has been signed to the estimable Tapete Records since 2017 and is back with another fantastic album, “Tall Stories & New Religions”.


Darren Hayman is a thoughtful, concise and detailed songwriter. He eschews the big, the bright and the loud for the small, twisted and lost. For over 20 years, and over countless albums, Hayman has taken a singular and erratic route through England’s tired and heartbroken underbelly telling the stories of Pram Towns, Witches, Lidos, Thankful Villages, Bugbears and more.


Tumbledryer Babies are Southend’s very own one man pop group. Pithy tales that are over before they’ve even started. We’ve said it a million times but if you don’t love Tumbledryer Babies, you don’t have a soul.

Tickets are £12 in advance and £15 on the door. £4 an act!
