Event information
Phoenix River Band's music, a potent mix of original songs with driving beats and soulful melodies, is a style best described as 'Atlanticana' – a mix of Country Rock, Soft Rock, Blues and Rock fusing elements from both sides of 'The Pond' and as one reviewer said "imagine cruising in a Cadillac with Chris Rea at the wheel, Pink Floyd and the Allman Brothers in the back, and maybe some Eagles flying overhead
Centred around Chris Melhuish, who writes the songs, for the most part sings them, and plays some pretty mean blues-infused guitar, is a band with a stellar line up: the rhythm section of Dave Dunster on drums and Mike Pitt on bass are the heart and soul of this outfit; keyboardist Andy Allpass on organ and piano, his playing tasteful and expert; guitarist Jim Hodgson plays acoustic and electric guitars adding depth to the sound nicely and vocalists Jo Melhuish and Shelley Dunster bringing their signature harmonies — all of them integral to the band's distinctive sound. The band are now working on their 4th album which will be released in the New Year to accompany their earlier 'Empty Road', 'Lights' and 'Under the All Seeing Eye (Live)' albums

EDDY
Bristol singer/songwriter, creating from the heart.
'Really really stunning, we couldn't have not played that'
'That demo of just piano and vocals is such a vulnerable way to show off the talent' - Jess Izsatt, BBC Radio 1.
sometimes I find myself wanting to change a lyric because it reveals too much about myself, its too honest or it scares me that everyone will have access it. in those moments I remember all the great art that I love, and I see that I love it for those exact reasons.
creating is a strange thing when it becomes a compulsion. I go a little crazy without it.
I believe this will always be what grounds me. it feels fated.
'Emerging young Black Mountains singer, songwriter and talented guitarist EDDY... prepare to be transported. Eddy’s mesmerising performance, honest lyricism and infectious hooks will be in your head for the days and even weeks to follow!' - Latitude festival.
