Event information

We cannot wait to bring this show to the stage at East Didsbury Methodist Church in June!

It's a play in 3 acts, associated with the theatre of the absurd. The action takes place in George and Martha's living room. The middle aged couple get back home at 2am after a faculty party, drunk and quarrelling. It soon transpires that Martha has invited a younger couple, Nick and Honey, back to the flat to continue the party, much to George's dismay. As the night goes on, the two couples get increasingly drunk, and we get into a night of verbal sparring, humiliating revelations and games.

The play explores themes around truth, disillusionment and reality - What are the fictions we tell ourselves? What are the illusions that keep us comfortable and safe, but also trapped?

It is a beast of a show, but it's got some of the best writing you will see, and it's known for its dark humour.
