Gus Munro

Gus Munro is one of the most exciting live solo acts in Scotland’s current and thriving music scene. The singer-songwriter effortlessly combines a variety of musical genres, underpinned by his imaginative lyrics.
He has also combined his love of Scottish traditional music and his passion for the blues, creating a genre often described as Scottish-Folk-Blues. His song writing manages to retain the feel and emotional expression of the deep-rooted blues, while pushing through his Scottish roots in a modern context.  
The emotional depth of his voice often displays a real sense of vulnerability. He is an artist who is not afraid to show his emotions and convey them through his music.  His singing and song writing are complemented by his imaginative and melodic slide guitar work, which adds to the emotional impact of his live performance. A genuine warm and engaging performer, Gus will draw you into his world and compel you to listen.
Gus has been steadily building a loyal fan base, with over 1000 live shows under his belt. He has performed at an array of venues and festivals across mainland Europe, playing to new audiences across France, Belgium and Germany; including: Le Blues Du Zinc Festival in France, The Great British R&B Festival, Maryport, Lancaster Music Festival, Edinburgh Festival, Aberdeen Jazz Festival & The Isle of Bute Jazz Festival.
His spontaneous approach has become the backbone of his live shows, which has gained him the reputation as a unique talent.
Gus has played around 500 gigs at the Howlin' Wolf Glasgow, he played there the first week it opened and the most requested solo acts at the venue.  He was asked to play at the venues 10th anniversary celebration and decided to record the show and release it as a live album
Release date for the live album is 23rd April 2024
The live album will be available to buy online and at gigs .

Recording is under way for his debut studio album which is going to be released on 29th October
