Here’s the line-up for our April showcase gig. Another special Shenanigans night in prospect as we host an array of talent from both the local area and further afield. A true bargain at only £5 for these 3 acts.
Basil Pieroni & His Huckster Hobos – A rockin’ country combo who are, mostly, travelling down from Scotland for this gig – you lucky people. Those of you who were in attendance at their last Stourbridge gig know what to expect. For anyone else a mix of classics, and some less well known tracks, by the likes of Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Elvis Presley and Jerry Jeff Walker.
The Peoples Temple – Alternative Rock band. Sounds to us like what could have happened if The Cult and Lemmy hung around in Seattle in the late 80s. Check out their EP ‘Metempsychosis' on www.soundcloud.com/thepeoplestemple-music.
Sicky – It’s a top, pop trivia fact that ‘Mickey’ was not the original title of Toni Basil’s mega hit*, it was in fact ‘Sicky’**. The first recorded version, however, was ‘Kitty’ by the legendary band Racey***. That aside, Sicky doesn’t sound much like either Toni Basil or Racey. Here at Shenanigans Towers, we hear flashes of Beck, Eels, and Baxter Dury.
