Vancouver resident Dan Managan is over in the UK promoting his critically acclaimed second album Nice, Nice, Very Nice. At 25 years old this young Canadian has already toured Canada, the US, Australia and Europe returning to London for the second time. During his last visit at The Great Escape Festival the NME described Dan as ‘singing with the soul of Woody Guthrie’, not a bad comparison for this emerging indie folk singer.

Intriguing Icelandic singer Hafdis Huld will be performing tracks from her forthcoming second album due for release in the UK early 2010. Having previously toured as part of Gus Gus and FC Kahuna, Hafdis Huld is a very captivating live performer that has seen her recently support the likes of Paolo Nuttini and Mika. Hafdis’ debut album ‘Dirty Paper Cup’ is a ‘piece of delicious skewed pop’ (The Guardian) and was Icelandic pop album of the year in 2007.

Stephen Black aka Sweet Baboo is a hotly tipped young performer and listening to his second LP ‘Hello Wave’ it is easy to see why. Hailing from North Wales, Sweet Baboo’s bittersweet country folk has been getting good support from BBC radio DJ’s Huw Stephens, Tom Robinson and Mark Riley. It’s been a busy year for Stephen with two albums out in quick successions as well as collaborations with Euros Child, Spencer McGarry Season and Cate Le Bon.
