The Jazz Cannibals are a storming New Orleans band mixing traditional jazz and original songs, tonight supported by The Lycra Cowgirls playing the brilliant mix of jazz and cowboy songs!
JIMBINO VEGAN strikes again with his 2024 Olympic special show ft storming original, energetic, animated, passionate, fun and verbose songs (mostly) about love - love for Spaghetti, the Overground, Women, Cycling, the Seaside and Language. Influenced by old New Orleans jazz and protest music from Benjamin Zephaniah to Dick Gaughan, Jimbino writes storming original, fun and verbose songs (mostly) about love - for Spaghetti, the Overground, Women, Cycling, the Seaside and Language, and also touching sad songs about Death, Social Injustice and the travails of being a globally famous rap-star in his imaginary world. His band, the fantastic JAZZ CANNIBALS, include Tim "That's Fair" Fairhall on contra-bass, Piers 'el Prophet' Tamplin laying down some old testament tenor saxophone, and a mystery guest who will blow your socks off (not literally).
PS: look out for impromptu breakdancing between sets, so come to PARRRTYYYY!
Support comes from the brilliant LYCRA COWGIRLS. Featuring the beautiful singing and ukulele-playing of Hannah White, Mary Muggins improvising energetically on the clarinet and the fair-haired Miss Hall on contrabass, these girls in buckskin drag will take you to the never-ending prairies of kinky cowboy fantasy where a cow-poke is proud to get the flaming-eyed doggies rolling round the fire and ride off into the desert sunset playing yippiyeeeeee yooodooodoodle oooh yeee haaaaaa as the coyotes hollah to that old filddle moon stompin in that ol Mexico south of the Rose of my heart manner. Yesssiiiiiir, you only live twice maaa'am - if you follow me! RAWHIDE!!!!! YAAAAA!
