Inspired by the British Library’s Beyond the Bassline exhibition, of which Portsmouth Central Library is hosting a free panel display version of the larger London exhibition until August, author of 'History Through The Black Experience' Simon Hudson will give a talk on Black music in Britain and explore the people that have formed a British soundtrack from Lovers Rock to Gospel to Jazz and Funk. From Janet Kay to The London Community Gospel Choir to Soul 2 Soul. Join us for what promises to be a fascinating talk.
