Manasamitra - Meltwater
MELTWATER is an immersive a 60-minute music and performance event which looks at ‘water’ as an environmental disruptor. The performance blends natural sounds, songs, folklore and life experiences collected from communities in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire and India, to create a unique experience that highlights both the destructive power and the awesome beauty of water. This trio version features Supriya Nagarajan (Carnatic voice), Duncan Chapman (electronics / field recordings) joined by Sumie Kent (Koto). The performance also includes a 60 minute slowed down movie of glacier calving by NZ filmmaker Richard Sidey.
