Scott Matthew
Peerless balladeer and Antony Hegarty’s favourite singer, Scott Matthew is most noted for writing and performing much of the soundtrack for John Cameron Mitchell’s cult classic, Shortbus. His exquisitely sad voice belies a genuinely funny, warm personality – a completely captivating combination.
Dog Of Hearts
Dog of Hearts is the new project of singer, multi-instrumentalist and violinist with the Hidden Cameras Jamie McCarthy. Draw a triangle with The Velvet Undergroud, Will Oldham, and Beirut at each corner, and Dog of Hearts will sit somewhere in the middle. DoH's music veers between euphoria and melancholy, combining a range of instruments from harmonium and concertina to cello, to back McCarthy's warm, emotionally effective voice.
The Gadsdens
The Gadsdens are a pop band with a sardonic twist. Shuffling together elements of blue-eyed soul, infectious hooks, rhythmic piano lines and the instantly lovable vocals of Jody Gadsden, they deal out songs of awkward beauty.
About q:pitch
q:pitch is a network of music lovers who collaborate to promote and publicise great bands, artists and entertainers. Most are gay. But that’s not what’s remarkable, it’s their talent that is. We believe in being visible because we’re proud of who we are. But we refuse to let it define what we do.
