Event Information
In April 2024, Phil Odgers (The Men They Couldn't Hang) and John Kettle (Merry Hell) released Far Rockaway: The Songs of Phil Ochs - a celebration of the songs, words and influence of the tortured genius who gave the world some fabulous songs of protest, resistence, commentary, ingsight and plain humanity before he was beaten by his own demons.
The launch gig at a packed London venue was hailed as a triumph and the album itself has gained phenomenal reviews and has been a hit over in the USA - entering the US Folk Radio Airplay Charts Top 20.
Phil and John will be performing the enitety of the album - plus some additional songs at a matinee concert at The Coffee Stop in Leigh.
With doors at 1.30pm this will give gig goers the opportunity to enjoy snacks or a meal at he cafe downstairs (along with a damn fine cup of coffee) before going upstairs to the intimate venue (tickets are very limited and will inevitably sell out quickly).
If all that wasn't enough, the event will start with a solo gig from Virginia Kettle!
The venue will also have a license by the time the gig takes place, so there will be the otion to have a drink as well, should you wish to take it.
See YOU there because that's what makes gigs special!!
